Caspi Star won impressively at Musselburgh over 12 furlongs

Caspi Star (Camelot) took a lead through the first half of the race, racing a touch greenly under Silvestre de Sousa in third. Making good use of the cutaway and her long stride in the straight, she was ridden to take up the running passing the three-furlong pole and stayed on strongly to win.
She is the first foal and first winner out of the Listed Doonside Cup winner Encapsulation (Zoffany), who also placed twice at Listed level from only six starts. The next dam Supercharged (Iffraaj) won once and produced four other winners. The third dam Glympse (Spectrum) failed to win but produced six winners, including the Australian Gr.3 winner Al Galayel (Zoffany), who was twice a winner in Britain before moving to Australia. Encapsulation has a two-year-old filly by Night Of Thunder (€780,000 Arqana August Yearling Sale) and a yearling colt by New Bay.
